The world's last truly wild horse — recovered on restored grassland
Delegate's choice
About this tour
In 1969 the takhi was extinct in the wild. Today Khustai's herds run free across 50,000 hectares of recovered grassland, monitored by Mongolian biologists who'll join your group for an on-site briefing. The same restoration techniques are now studied across Central Asia as a template for combatting desertification — making Khustai one of the most direct links between a half-day excursion and the COP17 agenda inside the conference hall.
